Natural Make Up

This is quite a natural make up look for me but I thought I'd share it with you as its a great everyday make up look.

I firstly applied my Yves Saint Laurent Le Teint Touche Eclait foundation (here), I'm glad I'm writing this as I don't think I could pronounce it! I have the shade BR30 which suits me pretty well sometimes I find it a little pink but once blended it looks fine. I then used a little bit of bronzer to warm up my complexion. I look pretty pale if I don't use some kind of bronzer or blusher.

For my eyes I was playing around with my Clinique all about eyes shadow palette in neutral territory 2 (here). I've really been enjoying using this at the moment and is great for creating so many different looks. I used the second colour (from left to right) of the palette all over my eyelids, its the light shade of the diamonds and pearls duo. I then used a little bit of the 5th shade along in the crease and outer corner just to add a bit of dimension. Its the brown shade of the polar blue quad for reference. I then used lots of mascara to finish the eyes. I been really liking the Maybelline Big Eyes mascara* (here) at the moment and its the one I've been reaching for most.

To finish I applied a little bit of nude lip gloss just to finish off the look. This particular one is from Beautiful Movements Cosmetics, it doesn't say the particular shade on the tube but its a really pretty pinky nude and look very natural on the lips. Looking at the website it might actually just be called nude, you can find it here.

I hope you've enjoyed this and if you like seeing my daily make up looks I post most of them on my instagram emrosebeauty or you can follow me on twitter @emrose_beauty.

Nip + Fab Moisturisers

I picked up these Nip + Fab moisturisers a couple of weeks ago, it's the packaging that really caught my eye. I picked up the Hyaluronic Fix Body Gel (here) and the Glycolic Fix Body Cream (here) they were both £7.99.

They are both very lovely moisturisers and very different from one another. The first one that caught my eye was the Hyaluronic Fix Body Gel. I'm a sucker for packaging and couldn't resist this bright orange fun looking body cream. It has more the consistency of a serum than a moisturiser, but is very hydrating on the skin and leaves my legs with that glossy finish, which will be great in the warmer months when you don't want to wear tights. Hyaluronic acid is an ingredient that is very popular in  the beauty industry at the moment and many products have it in. Its really good for providing long lasting hydration and makes skin look more soft and plump. It also contains vitamin E which is another good moisturiser for the skin and aloe vera to calm and sooth the skin. I like to apply this in the evening after a warm bath or shower, as it does feel very soothing to the skin. It sinks into the skin really nicely and doesn't feel sticky on the skin, (I'm very picky with moisturisers). The only thing is, it has kind of a funny smell, I can't really describe it but I think you'll either love it or hate it. I kind of like it but my little sister told me it stinks! So I'll leave you to make your own mind up!

On the other hand the Glycolic Fix Body Cream definitely smells amazing, it smells like grapefruit and would be great for a morning moisturiser or a bit of a pick me up. It also has the texture of what you might call a more conventional body cream, quite thick and creamy. It leaves you skin feeling very soft and smooth. Its says moisturising and refining on the bottle and is great for flaky or oily skin, so I'm guessing it would be a pretty good all rounder for most people. It also has salicylic and lactic acids in which are really good for exfoliating the skin, so I would say its pretty good for normal to dry skin as well.

I would definitely recommend trying both if your on the look out for a new body cream and there are so many other great products from the brand, would recommend looking at. There currently on 3 for 2 at Boots at the moment. Let me know your favourite moisturisers in the comments!

Roses are red

I thought this would be a fun way to show you some of my favourite things. I have in total 9 beauty products and a pair of shoes. I decided to go with all things red as a kind of theme, but just because these are all red doesn't mean I don't like them in other colours or shades. I just chose these ones to give everyone some ideas on what the products were like.

When we think of red particularly in beauty products the first thing that pops into my head is red lipstick, which I'm not particularly a fan of red lips but when I am in the mood two of my favourites to use are Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids Lipstick in Neon Red (here), this is a very bright orange toned red and is just gorgeous on the lips. Maybelline lipsticks are definitely one of my favorites from the drugstore. I have collected quite a selection of them now, there just so pigmented and long lasting and just feel really nice on the lips.

My other go to red lip product is a lip gloss, my favourite is Bourjois Effect 3D lipgloss in 06 Rouge Democratic (here). I prefer this for in the day as its a much softer look and these lipglosses are so moisturising on your lips there really good for in the winter as the stop my lips from feeling so chapped whilst making them look pretty.

Another lip products which fits perfectly with wearing a bright red lip is a lip scrub and this one's red! Lush lip scrub is amazing and the come in so many different colours and scents. I have Santa's lip scrub which was a limited edition for christmas and tastes like cola bottle sweets. Its helps leave your lips silky smooth so you can apply any lipstick perfectly. Heres the link to all the Lush lip scrubs available at the moment.

Me me me's Cherubs Blush is a great lip and cheek stain. Its very similar to the Benefit Benetint which I also love. This is great for giving your lips that very natural rose stained look and you can use it as a blusher to give your cheeks that glow like you've just come out of the cold. Its long lasting and looks very natural compared to a lot of powder blushers as it doesn' have that powdery finish and blends perfectly into your foundation or tinted moisturiser. I've paired it here with Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum foundation (here).

I wanted to include an eyeshadow but red eyes sounds a bit scary! I decided on this MAC eyeshadow in Beauty Marked which I recently brought (link). Its a black eyeshadow with a very fine red glitter running through it. It looks amazing for smokey eyes or as a soft smokey eyeliner for a more natural eye.

Not forgetting the classic red nail either two of my favourites are Bourjois So Laques polish in Rouge Escarpin (here) its slightly deeper than your classic bright red and has an autumnal feel to it. I also like Models Own nail polish in Red Sea (here) as it has big chunks of glitter suspended in a sheer red polish and looks really pretty on its own or over a red or dark red or black.

Gucci Rush* (here) is a lovely perfume it has a very unique scent and is great for the evening as it has a warm scent that lingers on the skin. I think the packaging is so unique and looks like no other fragrance it has the feel of a cassette and being bright red you simply can't miss it definitely worth a smell.

Finally, my last item although its not a beauty item I just wanted to share it with you. These beautiful red heels brighten up any boring outfit and they a so comfy. There a really soft suede material and are all padded inside so you'll be able to party to your hearts content in these! I found them in TK Maxx.

What are your favourite red items? Beauty, fashion or anything else related!

Currently Loving... January

Where has January gone? It doesn't feel 5 minutes since Christmas has came and gone. It is currently cold and rainy which has left us all longing for spring to come and summer to hurry along after it. The first thing I've been loving this month is blogging. I made this blog up about a year ago now I just never wrote anything on it. It wasn't until I saw my lovely friend Charlotte who also blogs one day a couple of weeks ago and she talked me into posting my first post, she has an amazing blog which I will link here. I'm so glad she made me as I've loved writing about all my favourite things.

Favourite Make-up:

This month it won't be a surprise that its from Maybelline. It definitely has to be my favourite drug store brand at the moment. They've brought out so many great products and one of my favourites to use has to be the Big Eyes Light Catching eyeshadow palettes (link). I have a few of these they were so affordable and I just couldn't choose which colours I liked the best. I think my favourite has to be the Luminous Blue, which I'm wearing in the picture above. It's really great at just adding that pop of colour, I think I love the others just as much though.

Favourite Skincare:

This month it has to be coconut oil (link). I discovered this not so long ago and its quickly become my favourite cleanser. It just does such a good job of melting your make up off and I've been amazed at what a good eye make up remover it is I haven't touched my Clarins one since I bought this stuff. Its also been working great as an overnight hair mask and has so many other uses it really is great.

Favourite New Lauch:

This has to be the L'oreal Miss Manga Mascara* (link). The whole ad campaign with the little panda is so cute and the whole manga theme is great to add a bit of fun to everyday life and bring in a younger target audience which I think was their main idea. The mascara itself is really nice, I've heard mixed reviews about it but I get on with it really well. Its a good mascara if you like quite a thick mascara if you prefer a more lengthening, natural one though I don't think this ones for you.

Favourite Nails:
This is a really hard category to choose as its the one thing I probably change up the most other than my lipstick. I think the one I've gone back to the most is Barry M Berry Cosmo (link) which is a really deep purple. I just think its a bit different to all the other deep winter shades as they end to be a little more on the red side.

Favourite Bodycare:

I've been loving self tan this month, I think I'm just really hoping summer will hurry up around the corner! I don't think it will be anytime soon though. My favourite Tan is actually a new on I picked up the Vita Liberata pHenomenal Mousse Tan in fair (link), which I picked up in the sale. I've wanted to try one of these tans for ages and couldn't resist it for such a good price. It's a two to three week tan which is great if you don't want to be worrying about topping it up every couple of days. It leaves more of a glow to the skin rather than a tan which is perfect for this time of year as you don't always want to look like you've just come back from the Mediterranean in the middle of winter, when you go to work 3 shades darker than the day before! I think if you did want a deeper tan than the medium or dark would be more suitable. But this one is especially great for pale skintones and doesn't leave you looking like and orange umpah lumpah.
